Here are the achievement of the compassionate women outreach ministry Inc in her first fourteen (14) years of existence as an orphanage home and as children center in this part of the world. As at the time of this publication, the COWOM has existed for fourteen (14) years as an orphanage home in Nigeria and has achieved many things for God and for the society. This achievement list can also stand as what compassionate woman outreach ministry is doing. It can also stand as the showcase of ministry of this organization called (COWOM) and can also stand as the business of the ministry even though, our aim is to show case its achievements in its first fourteen years of ministerial existence in Nigeria. VARITIES IN COWOM
There are different varieties in the compassionate home which keep the children and other inmates center growing and surviving. The home is a great variety center where life is meaningful. Compassionate home is a blessing to the society and the gospel ministry at large.
Rev Dr. Mrs. Alice Zuriel Ononuju and her husband, Rev Prof Emma Ononuju made the compassionate home to be life. Different programmes in the camp bring the people to joy, love, faith and to practical piety resulting to good health and long life to those in the compassionate home. The name of the camp or compound of the compassionate women outreach ministry is “COMPASSIONATE HOME” which is the center of all scriptural and spiritual varieties. Below are other varieties that are regularly going on in the compassionate home of the compassionate women outreach ministry (COWOM).
Love feast is a general love and sacrificed services that involves sharing, giving and caring for one another, making life to be meaningful and creating general sense of belonging among the people. It is the system through which, the orphans, motherless children, and all abandoned children are made to know that they are very important and greatly loved by God.
Camp meeting in compassionate home is a spiritual programme mapped out for the upbringing of the children. It is a period fellowship and periodic worship involving special teachings, special preachings and special revelations that will impart greatly to the lives of children and all around the camp. Camp meeting comes twice every year.
Outreach programmes of the compassionate women outreach ministry in this sense has to do with the general involvements of all abled children in the orphanage to be soul winners and to go out to the society and to preach the gospel at their infant age. This is another strategy to teach the children the importance of evangelism and soul winning and to show them practically on how to do it. This programme has been very fruitful since its birth.
Congregational praises is a culture in the compassionate home which brings all members of the orphanage home to early morning praises, evening praises and night praises. There must be three definite praises in the compassionate home every day. The praises and worship to our God are not optional to any person. It is unchangeable culture in the compassionate home that GOD must be praised with songs and choruses thrice every day in order to acknowledge His ownership over our souls.
An important programme that goes on daily in the compassionate woman outreach ministry is preaching the WORD OF GOD to all around in order to build, to equip and to strengthen them and also to convert and to bring the unconverted to Christ. Preaching is a daily culture in the compassionate home that takes upper hands in the lives of the hearers and all in the camp. Preaching in this sense means telling the people all about God and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
One of the successful spiritual exercise in the camp is making it the center of prayers and making the children to grow with the habit of prayers. There are daily personal prayers and collective prayers as well. The camp cannot exist without prayers, thus, another name for the center is prayer camp. Daily prayer is the mark of the orphanage home.
Bible teaching and explaining is among the great varieties that features in the compassionate home. Rev Dr Alice Zuriel Ononuju and her husband Rev Prof Emma Ononuju founded the compassionate home to be a Bible center in order to bring men and women with the Bible principles. Bible exposition is a major focus in the entire ministry. If the ministry is not for Bible teaching, it is for nothing else. Bible teaching in compassionate home stands as a primary focus. This involves Bible quiz, Bible memorization, Bible survey and private studies with private discovery.
Great spiritual awareness that often springs from compassionate home includes great spiritual worshipping, fasting and deep spiritual devotion to God. There are great outburst of total worship to God, great devotion to God and fasting when necessary. Godliness is the major focus of compassionate woman outreach ministry and remains the primary means of its existence on earth. The focus is to know CHRIST and to make Him known.
Every day in the compassionate home is a training day. The major business of the compassionate woman outreach ministry is to train all children in the camp to be good citizens, to be godly and to become whom God created them to become and to achieve what God destined them to achieve in life. Training is a necessity in the entire ministry of compassionate women outreach ministry Nigeria. This involves training the mind, the head, the hand, the talent and the gift.
Caring and comforting are basic business of the compassionate home. It is called a caring center. Rev Dr Mrs. Alice Zuriel Ononuju and her husband Rev Prof Emma Ononuju established the compassionate home to become a center of comfort and caring to the distressed and to the downtrodden. The entire business of the orphanage home is to care and to comfort.
THE AUTHENTICITY OF OUR OPERATIONS
Our emergency is not a mistake nor is our action a careless one. We are operating by the mandate of God, approval of the Holyghost and with the acceptance of the church, persuasive of the gospel, by the authority of the Bible, through the federal government order and by the state government registration of “Go-ahead – our existence is not illegal and never unauthorized one. Below are the visible authenticities of our actions, operations and the boldness of our daily confessions.
We are not operating because we see fields of operation nor because we see what others are doing, and never because of praises and contributions from others, but we are operating and strongly believing that God called us into such field and leads us into such field and continues to be providing and to be sustaining us in such field. Children ministry, children caring and children revelations is our divine assignments, our divine revelations and divine calling which God has destined us to be involved. It is the vision from God and when “GOD GIVES A VISION, HE MAKES THE PROVISIONS” Thus, God is the true sponsor of the compassionate women outreach ministry Inc. we are called by God, approved by the gospel, accepted by the church, incorporated and registered by the government and in the government also. It is a godly institution for continuation of the ministry of our lord JESUS CHRIST which shall not end or stop till the lord comes or till the rapture of the saints to meet the lord in the sky. There are two great visions which the lord gave to our family to carry on the ministries of mercy, compassion and the entire ministries of love on earth, in order to represent JESUS, to follow Jesus and to continue JESUS caring ministries on earth. EIGHT (8) KINDS OF CHILDREN FOR THE GREATER COMPASSION
Compassionate women outreach ministry is children specialist that is bent to better the lives and general welfare of the unfortunate and misfortunate children. Compassionate women outreach ministry is all about children and their survival. Compassionate women outreach ministry is fully existing to make all children Christ oriented and life oriented children. There are eight kinds of misfortune children that are great burdens to this ministry. There are eight (8) kinds of children to whom the greater favour and greater compassion shall be poured to. The vision of compassionate women outreach ministry is centered on these kinds of children who were created by God but humiliated by satan, death, sickness, deformation, affliction and by nature. When we speak about eight kinds of children for the greater compassion, we mean the underlisted sorrowful children and babies that need the attention of all Christians and all good spirited individuals in our society. Below are those children that need the attention of good citizens and the children whom the compassionate women outreach ministry is focusing and the children referred as eight kinds of children who need our help and who we are caring for.
The rejected babies are babies born by students, single girls, through incest, through illegal relationship and children born outside marriage who are rejected by their mothers, by their fathers, by the family members of their parents and those rejected by the fetish laws of the land. These children in most cases are thrown into the bush, dropped along the road, thrown into the pit by their wicked mothers, dropped in the hospitals or maternity of their birth and at times are taking to orphanage homes or babies caring centers. Compassionate women outreach, ministry is focusing such babies and helping, keeping, caring and protecting such babies and fights to make them become reasonable and responsible in life. This is why compassionate woman orphanage home is existing.
Motherless babies are the babies whose mothers died during delivery, immediately after delivery, weeks or months after delivery or children of less than 36 months whose mothers died without any help or without substitute and without any person to care and to help. Compassionate women outreach ministry is existing to care, to help, to protect, to feed and to support such babies to survive, to live and to grow and be reasonable and responsible people in the land. Motherless babies are born to live irrespective of the early death of their infants. They are not destined to die as babies or as infants. Compassionate women outreach ministry is focusing such motherless babies in order to make them to live and to survive and to become more useful in the hand of God, in the church and in our society.
The sick babies are those born to live and to survive, but were born by helpless, poor and hungry parents who have no food to eat, nor have any cash to treat their sick babies. The sick babies in focus are the sick babies born in the poor and hungry family whose sicknesses continue to increase and to get worse everyday due to lack of money to treat them or lack of money to buy drugs or lack of money to take them to hospitals for treatment. Such sick children from helpless and poor families are the focuses of the compassionate women outreach ministry. Such sick babies have since gained the mercy, sympathy and the compassion of the compassionate women outreach ministry which takes the total care of such babies by taking them, treating them, caring for them, protecting them, feeding them and by doing all at her reach to make such babies to live, to survive and to be healthy always.
The abandoned children are children born in the fitish families, poor families and in the confused families who accused the two three or a four year old children born in their families of being pythons, witches, demon, their families, who because of such fetish beliefs drove away such children into bush, streets or cast them out to their ancient shrines, accusing them of being demons or death incarnates. These innocent children as a resulting of such accusation become wanderers knowing no where to go, nor what next to do, than to become beggars, while majority of them die in hunger. These children becomes homeless and shelterless children dying in hunger and suffering without clothes. This is very rampant in Africa, especially in west Africa. Compassionate women outreach ministry is existing in order to care, feed, cater, shelter, protect and to help such innocent children to be alive, be strong, be survived, be clean, and to be sheltered and to be reasonable and responsible citizens in life. Compassionate women outreach ministry is an expert in helping children of such categories and in caring for them.
The deformed children are the children of less than sixteen years of age who are lame, cripple, deaf, dumb, blind or children who are victims of one deformation or the other, either through accident, by birth, through unfortunate emergency, demonic attacks or through mysterious occurrences, or through amputation of one organ or the other. Compassionate women outreach ministry is out to help, cater, protect, and to sponsor such deformed children. Compassionate women outreach ministry is born to give hope to such hopeless children, to bring assurance to such discouraged children and to better the lives of such deformed children. Compassionate home, shelters, feeds, cares, helps, protects and gives adequate medical attention to such discouraged and deformed children in order to make them be self reliant in future and to be reasonable and responsible citizens in life. These deformed children are also helped to acquire one skill or the other in order to be balanced in lifem thus, compassionate means taking other peoples pains as your own pain and also carry such pains as you carry your own.
Wandering children are the children born by harlots that were pushed out to the streets to wander without any parental history, children born by mad women or mad mothers, who were dropped by their mothers unconsciously, children born by destitute, children without proper parental history who today have filled our cities, towns and major roads in our urban cities. These children constitute the majority of infant beggars we have today in our major cities and towns. They wander about, knowing nowhere to go, roaming about without any definite destinations. They are always without clothes and cloths but always necked, bare bodies and too dirty. Compassionate women outreach ministry is on full time ministry because of such category of suffering and wandering infants. Compassionate women outreach ministry shelters, protects, feeds, cloths, caters and sponsors such wandering children in order to make them become reasonable and survive, live and be normal. Their lives are brought under control, while new and lively senses are planted into their lives through the ministry of compassion from the compassionate women outreach ministry.
Helpless infants include children of between the ages of six and sixteen who come from poor families or fatherless children, the children of the slaves, the school drop outs due to finance, unschooled children, confused infants, condition made slaves by their tax and task masters, suffering infants, groaning infants, humiliated and abused infants, brainy infants without education, skillful children without training and all other infants who want to be trained, sent to schools, fed well and children who want to be survived but without any helper, without any sponsor and without any aid from any angle. The ministry of COWOM is existing in order to care, sponsor, support, help, build and to meet the needs of such innocent ministry is housing, helping, protecting, feeding and catering for the helpless infants in order to make them better, build them and to make them achieve why and what GOD created them originally to become.
The orphans are the children whose parents are dead, either when they were babies or when they were infants. The orphans are helpless children without parents. The orphans suffer hunger, mockery, humiliation, poverty, rejection and often in sorrows, groaning and in pains without any comfort from anywhere. The compassionate women outreach ministry has no other important name than orphanage home. The greatest business of the compassionate women outreach ministry (compassionate woman orphanage home) is to care and to protect the orphans. It is an orphanage home specifically called to protect, cater, feed, house, to sponsor, care and to help the orphans. The majority of the inmates in the compassionate home are the orphans. We need bags of rice, beans, garri, yams, banana, plantains, fruits, fish, meat, salt, pepper, beverages, oil, vegetables, onions, and other foods or items that shall make us to live and to survive as organization in our orphanage home. Whatever food items, crops or whatever items that is at your reach to help us shall be highly appreciated and God shall bless you.
We need the sponsorship of the governments, religious bodies, clubs, social organizations, parties, commercial institutions, traders unions, good spirited individuals and business organizations to come to our aid. We need money, financial sponsorship, land donations, mobility, building materials, cash for building the orphanage.
